Trust Seeds and Letgen Biotech Announce Strategic Partnership for Advanced Plant Pathogen Detection in the Middle East
Trust Seeds, a leading regional player in plant breeding and hybrid seed production, is proud to announce a strategic collaboration with Letgen Biotech, a renowned molecular diagnostics provider specializing in rapid plant pathogen detection solutions. This partnership marks a significant milestone in agricultural biotechnology across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
As part of the agreement, Trust Seeds has been officially appointed as the exclusive regional distributor and certified testing center for Letgen’s full line of molecular diagnostic kits and technologies. These solutions include real-time PCR kits, nucleic acid purification tools, and a wide range of reagents and accessories designed to rapidly detect plant viruses, bacteria, fungi, viroids, phytoplasmas, and nematodes.
The decision to base the distribution and diagnostic operations at Trust Seeds’ state-of-the-art laboratories in Amman, Jordan, reflects both companies’ shared commitment to delivering precision agriculture solutions to farmers, seed producers, and research institutions throughout the region.
Advancing Seed Health Testing Services
In addition to crop diagnostics, the collaboration is set to significantly enhance seed health testing services across the region. Utilizing Letgen’s advanced PCR-based platforms, Trust Seeds’ laboratory will now offer rapid and reliable seed-borne pathogen detection, ensuring that seed lots meet the highest phytosanitary standards before reaching the market.
Pathogen-free seeds are essential for sustainable agriculture and global seed trade. With this new capability, Trust Seeds is poised to serve not only internal breeding and production programs but also offer independent seed health certification services for local and international seed companies, government agencies, and agricultural exporters.
Tests will cover a wide range of critical seed-transmissible diseases including Tomato Mosaic Virus (ToMV), Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV), Clavibacter michiganensis, and Ralstonia solanacearum, among others, in accordance with ISTA and OECD standards.

Empowering Regional Plant Health
Letgen Biotech’s catalog offers over 100 pathogen-specific PCR detection kits, including high-priority targets such as Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV), Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV), Cucumber Vein Yellowing Virus (CVYV), and Ralstonia solanacearum, among many others. All kits are validated for use on widely adopted real-time PCR platforms such as the Bio-Rad CFX96 Touch and LightCycler 480 II.
